Mrs. Christine Filipek ~ After growing up in Connecticut, Christine graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a bachelor’s degree in Education and spent 10 years teaching in Christian schools before moving to Michigan with her husband, Keith, who also graduated from PCC and is a music teacher. Christine and Keith knew before having their first child over 25 years ago, that they would homeschool and she has enjoyed the journey. Besides teaching her own children for more than 20 years, Christine taught Apologia sciences to students in her home for 4 years and then began teaching classes at the Quest Tutorial. Founding REACH Tutorial in 2012, Christine has been teaching classes in a variety of areas and manages several teachers to meet the needs of local homeschoolers. She has also taught online for the past several years teaching science classes to students all over the world. She and Keith have served in leadership roles for over 15 years with two homeschool support groups. She feels that God has put her in this place and time to share her passion for excellence in home education with the homeschooling community in Lenawee county. Mrs. Meganne Fisher~ a former homeschool graduate, Meganne is married to her husband Garrett and together have 3 children under four. She is passionate about reading, hiking, camping and all things artistic. She has a special place in her heart for igniting creativity among youth and looks forward to teaching art classes this year.
Mrs. TommiSue Sparks~ grew up in Hudson Michigan while attending Hudson area schools. She married Jason Sparks in 1999 and has 5 kids ranging from 3-18 in age. Mrs. Caryl Veloso~ (or "Mrs. V" as her students fondly call her) is a mentor, test-prep coach, & founder of Almond Tree Education, LLC—an Educational Support Service in North Georgia—and Almond Tree Writers’ Ink, LLC. She has been a tutor and home educator since 1998 and is deeply passionate about connecting with her students' minds and hearts. She aims to show them that she is not merely helping them learn, but continuously roots for them in the many aspects of their academic life.
Mrs. V majored in Professional Writing, minored in Speech Communications, and holds a BA in Communications. Her academic focus was on Stylistic Analysis, Prose Styles, and Literary Theory. Her interests are in Linguistics, Rhetorical Studies, Communications Research, Comparative Literature. She has been an active part of six major home education associations throughout Georgia since 1998; in these organizations, she enjoyed opportunities to teach, mentor, and spearhead various home education events and projects. When she isn’t teaching, she is the in-house editor for Thrive Coworking, Ascension MMA, and a publication consultant for the local businesses in her area. Together with her husband, Jeremiah, they run their AirBNB and serve as Married Community Group leaders at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, GA.
